Top Cut Calculator

> Thanks to Kenny Wisdom for the idea and this post for help with the formula.

Enter the number of players, number of rounds of Swiss, and top cut size then click or tap to submit. The records that should1 make top cut will be generated along with how many players will finish at those records.

Decimals in the results will indicate either X or Y players will finish at a record, where X is the number rounded down and Y rounded up (e.g., 1.4 means either 1 or 2 players will finish at the record).

Records That Will Make Top Cut

Based on 66 players, 7 rounds of Swiss, and 16-player top cut:

  • Final Record — Players @ This Record
  • 7-0 — 0.5
  • 6-1 — 3.6
  • 5-2 — 10.8
  • 4-3 — 18.0

The Cutoff: 1.0 players @ 4-3 will make top cut and 17 will miss. All better records should be safe.

1 Please note this calculator is imperfect and does not take into account factors such as ties, drops, or double game losses, so the actual results are likely to vary.
