Skype is a great tool, but I don’t use it because I don’t have a headset, and I predict that that’s the reason why many others don’t as well. I should pick one up though, ha.

    Good video.

But, but, but… What if we have a really embarrassing girly voice that we don’t want our opponents to hear?

you don’t even need a headset, most computer monitors and laptops have a small microphone that while is not great quality, can still work :)

Its Actually a pretty intense little tool lol! I’m more of a red-shark person so this would be perfect with it. Thanks for the Video!

P-S. Mach its ok to have girl voice i wont laugh :P

The main reason I didn’t like playing online was that it took forever…Skype cuts down that time almost in half.

    Saving time, saving frustration, Skype.

I HATE Skype with a passion. Ventrilo is SO much simpler to use and way more convenient.

Hey, now that i think about it, why don’t you set up a 6P ventrilo? I can show you how to moderate, ban/kick people, mute people and how to set up announcements in ventrilo etc. You can get like a 50 person one for like 6-10 bucks a month.

I’ve never heard of Ventrilo or Sightspeed, but I am perfectly content with Skype at the moment. I think it’s super easy to use.

How do Venrilo and Sightspeed work? What makes them different than Skype?

On the topic of playing on-line. Have any of you tried out Lackey? I’ve played it solitaire and really like it because you can see the actual cards (there’s even a window where you see the selected card at full size). It does have an on-line play mode but I haven’t tried it – so I don’t know how well it works.

If you haven’t tried it its worth checking out.

Don’t let the example card graphic fool you, its got every card up to and including RR at the moment.

With Ventrilo, it’s super easy because you get a server, for example 6p, and you can have channels in your server. Like Deck discussion, General, Tournament Discussion, etc, and people can come in the server and go to whatever channel they like. Also, Vent is super convenient to make announcements in, everyone in the server will get a little pop up window with news, etc.

Ventrilo is more for communities while Skype is more for business settings.

and there should be no discussion between Appr/RS/lackey/whatever. Apprentice will always come on top.

Hey Rokman, why do you like apprentice the best? I don’t have enough experience with any of them to make a definitive decision when it comes to on-line play, so I am just trying to gather some opinions.

Is it just voice chat or regular chat too?

Alakapimp helped me get the 6P chat configured yesterday, so I want that the place for people to meet up and talk Pokemon cards and look for online games.

I just don’t think there is a need for something with more capabilites like Ventrilo at the moment. IRC chat makes it super easy for anyone to get connected and if anyone wants to actually talk to their opponent, skype is perfect.

In the future Ventrilo might be money tho, seems like it would be cool for tournaments.

Pablo gave me the 6prizes hamachi network to play on Redshark. When do you usually play online?

    Skype is SWEET.
My friend’s dad uses it to talk to my friend’s brother in Canada.

Sightspeed has video, voice, and regular text chat, so there are a lot of mediums to utilize whilst battling. I think skype has those too, but it’s just another option, I’m not sure which is better/worse.
