What are your favorite kinds of posts? – Poll

Yo peeps, just give me some feedback today:

[poll id=”8″]

You can select more than one answer if you want to. Just let me know what types of posts you dig the most and we’ll try to get more of them up! Please comment and explain your picks too. I am also thinking about doing interviews of some of the game’s top players as another category of posts.

P.S. I took some of your guys suggestions from last week with regard to the site layout and changed the sidebars up a little bit, most notably on the left side. What do you guys think? Anything else I should adjust? I also changed the URL structure of the site so that you can actually tell what the link is about (which is good if you post the link on another site).

I voted for lots of stuff – there are so many good things about this site. My least favourite things are probably news and tournament reports because they are already covered quite at bit a Pokegym and Pokebeach. A more in depth analysis of what was played at a tournament (like the Gyarados article) is better, in my opinion, than the actual game by game report. It would be cool to see some sort of overall analysis of a tournament – try and get a breakdown of the meta game at that tournament, how many of each deck type was played, and how various decks fared against each other. That would be a lot of work though.

I voted for News, Card of the Day, Videos, and Tournament Reports.

I voted that way partly because those honestly are my favorite posts to read, and partly because I think focusing on those topics (along with a few of the others here) can make this site the most successful it could possibly be.

I like posts about Puppies. Why is that not an option?

i like deck analysis, reports, news, videos with tips and other discussions, and those options thats rated high right now :)

Thanks for all input so far guys…I am actually just about to delete the “deck lists” category and will just tag any posts with deck lists with the tag “deck list”, so you could just click that to see all posts with deck lists.

All deck analysis and testing results posts (and really any post with a deck list) I also put in the deck lists category, but I think it makes more sense just to tag them. Makes things a little more organized I think.

Also as far as the “Featured Articles” category, I think the way it’s going to work is that no article will start off as a featured article, but articles that get the most comments and views I’ll go back later and add them to the featured article category. It’s pointless for me to decide what’s a featured article, it’s really up to you guys!

My favourite posts are the ones with lots of discussion.

I voted for Deck Lists, Tips and Strategy, Testing Results, News and Featured Articles.

Polls and Reader Contributions are usually low-content although there are some big exceptions. I am looking for tips from the best players possible. Videos tend to be awkward but the Kingdra vs. Beedrill video is by far the best post ever on this site.

    Dave’s suggestion has my interest.

I kind of think you should eliminate the Reader Contribution category and just tag them because Reader Contributions always seem to fall into one of the other categories and the author is clearly listed in the title.

Lol, your poll’s math looks whack. I don’t think anything can have negative percent in a positive only poll.

Anyways, I like things like Deck Analysis the most because as a fairly new player, I tend to learn a lot from them, even if they’re not a top tier deck.

LOL at the -192%. Guess we definately won’t be doing Polls anymore hehe.

I’ll try to make my next articles on Deck Analysis, along with a Battle Roads expected metagame one, so you guys can look forward to that, I already have my next 2 Deck Analysis articles planned out, just need some final permission from the deck’s “authors”.

  18. Kyle Morris

Pabz I say you do an article on the upcoming Meta and than we have a poll on what deck people would like to see analyzed.

This could work, but it seems like Poll’s aren’t very popular, and I think personally it’d be better to try and cover every single deck with an article. ‘Wasting’ the daily update on a Poll doesn’t seem like a good idea, so instead we’ll do our best to cover every single deck out there.

Testing Results and deck analysis ftw! This is one of the only sites that will give a serious look at some hyped cards, and give some minor testing for everyone else to kickstart from.

Awesome I am glad you guys gave all this feedback.

I would love to post more deck analysis, but honestly I’ve been so busy with school and just maintaining the site that I’ve had hardly any time to test.

Looks like no one likes polls, so I’ll get rid of them for the most part…maybe I’ll do some before tournaments just to see what decks people think are going to win. And the occasional feedback poll like this one.

I didn’t realize Card of the Day was so well liked, but I guess this is really the only site where you can get a good Card of the Day. Pojo and Pokegym don’t have much substance to their COTDs.

Dave yeah I think I’m just going to tag all Reader Contributions. I was thinking of keeping the category for any reader contributions that I didn’t want to place in other categories, just so the other categories would only have main contributor stuff, but that doesn’t make much sense. I’m going to phase the category out with tags later today hopefully.

ALSO with regards to news, I am pushing the twitter for late breaking news. It’s so much easier for me just to send news links on there. Even if it’s a link to another site, I don’t mind, I just want to keep you guys updated.

I’m never going to be able to post news stories here first, but if it’s something worth discussion I can make a post about it. Maybe I’ll send the news on twitter and if you want to discuss it, just send me a tweet and I’ll make a post on it.

    Aight peace out home dogs,

    Adam
