Hey everyone,
I spent a good few hours setting up the “forum” last night. It is pretty much configured. The main thing I need to do is figure how to prevent new topics from being posted (only want articles on the main site to be topics to prevent spam). I also would like to see if it’s possible to import all the topics and comments already on the site, and obviously to match the color scheme and everything to match the site, but I honestly may never bother to do that latter (would take too much time and frustration!).
However, the way it should function is that all new posts are automatically imported into the forum, and all comments posted on both the main site and forum should sync with one another. The forum just makes it easier to see where new comments have been posted and what topics have been recently discussed.
If you find and glitches or problems let me know (even though I will not be happy to hear it haha).
Sorry I have not been able to post an article lately, I have just been incredibly busy and have had no time to play Pokémon. I really appreciate everyone that has been submitting articles, at the very least even if I cannot post content I am giving you guys a platform to show your stuff.
Oh and congrats to the winners of the Columbus Day (into Wednesday) Treasure Hunt! I probably made it a bit too difficult to find the prizes, but I think it was a fun contest and a success!

It’s not meant to be a forum really, it’s just supposed to be a forum view of the website so it’s easier to follow along with comments and so that discussions on old topics can keep going.
Those other programs can’t be used because I want to synchronize all the posting. If I were to use different forum software, then posts made on the main site would not show up on the forum, and vice-versa.
Using this software you can comment on a post on the message board and it will show up on the main site too…keeps things organized and easy to follow.
Anyways have you guys come across any glitches or anything?

Eh. I was hoping for a message board forum, so we could ask questions and make are own discussions without having to post an article about it. Sometimes members just have a quick question, wouldn’t it be easy to just add a separate extension to the forum for *miscellaneous*?

I do think the result that you want – serious discussion of competitive decks – is best met with the current set-up; especially now that the “forum” lets you easily see which older articles are still being discussed. I think what would be great for Adam is if anyone who was playing an archetype would write a quality article about it and submit it for discussion.
I think there also needs to be room for “off the wall” ideas and card combos. You only need to look at this year’s World Championships (e.g. Gyarados) to see that there is plenty of room for experimentation.
