Pokémon TCG: Rumble

There is a new Pokémon TCG item being released in stores tomorrow called Pokémon Trading Card Game: Rumble. I don’t know too much about it, but it seems to be geared toward new players looking to get into the game. Here is the official write-up about it:

Pokemon TCG RumbleThis holiday season Pokémon will bring the action from the TV to the tabletop in the all-new Pokémon Trading Card Game (TCG): Rumble! Pokémon TCG: Rumble, the new all-in-one multiplayer Pokémon Trading Card Game, combines TCG and board game elements, and serves as a great introduction to the Pokémon Trading Card Game. The low price point, and easy gameplay make this the perfect holiday gift.

Each Pokémon TCG: Rumble game allows up to seven players to open the box and compete in a true Battle Royale with the goal of being the last Pokémon standing. The fast-paced card game is played on a playmat where the simple roll of the dice can decide your fate.

To play the game, simply place your markers to guess which Pokémon cards will outlast the others, roll the Energy dice to figure out which move you can use…and roll the Target die to find out which Pokémon you will attack! Score points for each Pokémon you Knock Out and score even bigger if your marker is on the last Pokémon standing.

Features:
• 1 Battle Royale Playmat
• 16 exclusive Pokémon TCG cards with foil Rumble logos, including 3 all-foil cards. Each card uses Pokémon art from the WiiWare Pokémon Rumble title.
• 4 Energy Dice & 1 Target Die
• 14 Player Markers (2 per player)

Pokémon TCG: Rumble is a perfect complement to the upcoming WiiWare Pokémon Rumble video game, available soon on the Wii Shop Channel. Whether playing Rumble on the Wii or playing the new Pokémon TCG: Rumble, players will find the games easy to play and action-packed!

For more information on Pokémon Trading Card Game: Rumble, and to find out how to connect to download the WiiWare title, go to: www.pokemonrumble.com

I may be getting a copy of the game, so if and when I do, I’ll do a more in depth review and give it away to someone. :)

I can’t wait to pick this up because I like the art and was a fan of the WiiWare game My Pokemon Ranch. I am all for getting more players in and if any of these cards are actually playable that is an ever bigger plus.

After reading that, i am convinced Pokemon has really lost it. All they can come up with is another dumb game for kids to play! Their TFG failed because the figures break. Now they want kids to gamble! Seems Ridiculous! Focus on only on the TCG!

It’s really just one big advertisement for kids to start playing the card game.

Too many little kids just buy the cards for fun, which isn’t a bad thing.
Nintendo’s idea, I suppose, is that some little kid will buy this game, play it, and say “Hey, I wanna play the real thing!” and start collecting them with intent to play. This creates an obligation to keep buying, because as newer, better cards come out, they’ll need the newer better cards, just like we, as the competitive player, do.

      Good advertising scheme, I say.

Not totally related, but rumble is SO worth the money. It’s a great party game for when you have a couple friends over (that still like Pokemon) as well as a pick-up-and-play game when you’re bored.

    If you were wondering :6

  11. Better in here than in Arceus or a different set. None of them are playable, similar to the Gift Box cards we got in Supreme Victors.

It looks very interesting. I’ll probably pick this up just to play it when I get the time and the money. I wonder if they will allow the cards to be played normally without the energy dice at tournaments.

    • Eelis Peltola  → RandomGuy

Probably will, as the cards look like your normal TCG card, except for the strange artwork and the Rumble stamp.

Seems like just another game for kids, don’t really matter to me. Especially when the cards are just rubbish if used for the TCG…

This game’s cards are supposed to be it’s own game but you are allowed to use the pokemon TCG cards for it. It’s seems to a fun game and can have up to 8 players. I want to get it and run it at the league. It runs much like a betting on horses to see how gets to the finish except here, you are betting on who will survive…O_o*

As a league leader, I was given a promotional copy of this to use at league. Here are some quick thoughts:

    – Firstly, for those saying that Pokemon should focus on the TCG…this is very much a TCG product. There’s a few advertisements for the TCG in the rules pages, not to mention these cards are TCG cards. It’s also heavily implied that this is meant to be a stepping stone toward playing the actual TCG.

    – As far as the gameplay goes, it’s pretty fun for something that’s a little different. Not complex at all, and I think the “token” mechanic could be tooled with a bit, but it’ll be fun for kids who aren’t quite ready for the full-on TCG yet. Also…Mew and Mewtwo are broken…heed my words.

I should say, as much as I appreciated reading what you had to say, I couldnt help but lose interest after a while. Its as if you had an excellent grasp on the issue, but you didn’t remember to include your readers. Perhaps you should think of this from more than 1 direction. Or perhaps you shouldn’t generalise so very much. It’s better if you think of what others might have to express rather than just going for a gut reaction on the subject. Think about modifying your own thought procedure and giving others who might look over this the benefit of the doubt.

Im no expert, but I feel you just produced the best point. You clearly know a good deal about what youre referring to, and I can really get behind that. Thanks for being so upfront and so honest concerning the subject matter. I genuinely experience like We have a better understanding now.

Sorry for the huge review, but I’m really loving the new Zune, and hope this, as well as the excellent reviews some other people have written, will help you decide if it’s the right choice for you.

You…are…awesome! This weblog is so good. I actually hope much more people go through this and get what youre stating, simply because let me tell you, its essential stuff. I never wouldve thought about this this way unless Id run into your web site. Thanks for putting it up. I hope you might have fantastic good results.

Hi all, I couldn’t come across any method to contact you, and so I genuinely hope that you read this remark. I have a website about leather purses, and pondered if you would like to trade back links with me. I have typed in my electronic mail address in the event you decide to get in touch. Thanks.
