Card Analysis

pokemon-paradijs.comAbsol G LV.X:
You use Absol G to get quick hard hits doing 60 damage with “Darkness Slugger” discarding usually a not needed tech. In a pinch to save energy when about to be KO’d you can use “Doom News” to return all of its energy to your hand, this can be especially be useful in this deck because of low amount of energy.

Garchomp C LV.X:
Using Garchomp C’s “Dragon Rush” you take late game prizes by doing 80 damage to any of their Pokémon, usually a benched one. When it levels up you also heal all of your Pokémon SP.

Uxie LV.X:
Uxie LV.X’s “Trade Off” can is the main drawpower for the deck because it allows you to basically use a Pokédexhandy910s everyturn. You can also use “Zen Blade” to KO enemy Machamp LV.Xs.

Azelf:
Azelf is used to grab highly need cards (Garchomp C,Uxie LV.X) from the Prize cards.

pokemon-paradijs.comAmbipom G:
Ambipom is used against decks that use 1 or less energies and Garchomp C decks, because of its 2 highly disruptive attacks.

Bronzong G:
Bronzong is used to move energies with its “Galactic Switch” to power up newly put down Pokémon so that they can attack. It can also save energies from going to the discard pile by moving them away.

Toxicroak G Promo:
Toxicroak G is used to KO the opponents Luxray GL LV.Xs by using his “Revenge Poison”. He also has a cool feature that allows him to have a built in Super Scoop Up, it is called “Leap Away”.

Honchkrow G:
Honchkrow G is used for its small 20, or even 40 damage snipe. He can also search for Stadiums and Team Galatic’s Inventions

Crobat G:
Most people know what it does, for those who do not it is essentially an automatic PlusPower, but more versatile.

Unown Q:
Not much to say about this card except that it gives Uxie LV.X free reatreat because of its Poké-Power “QUICK”.

Mismagius
Mismagius is my Mewtwo LV.X counter because it can use its “Psybeam” attack which does 60 damage, but 120 with Mewtwo’s x2 weakness to psychic. It can also counter Machamp.

I will not list the other cards because this article is long as it is.

Main Strategy:

The main strategy is too get a early Absol G LV.X and start using “Darkness Slugger” to get some early KOs. Then either retreating (Champion’s Room) or using Doom News (Galatic HQ). Depending on which stadium you picked you can do either. After he is either KO’d or retreated (I prefer KO’d) you send up Uxie, Level it Up attach an Unown Q and retreat back (only if Galatic HQ is the Stadium you picked), sending up Garchomp C LV.X, you them start sniping until the game is over.

Side Strategy:

A side strategy with this deck is using Absols “Doom News” attack every so often to take down the tank type pokemon like Torterra. This is highly disruptive and annoying.

Conclusion:

Overall I think this deck is fairly disruptive, just like our newly found out Sablock deck. This deck, like other decks, does have a weakness. This weakness is a Trainer Lock/Mewtwo LV.X lock but it does have some techs to counter that.

Thanks for reading this!

Nice deck idea, something a little different.

The problem with adding in special darks is they are unsearchable (Cyrus Conspiracy).
You will want to keep at least 2 of them basic darks so you can find them out when you need them.

  2. David Burnett

It seems like a good idea, I had accually thought of something like this once!I'm gonna make the deck and test it at my league to see if it can be competitive in my area!

  3. Cam Graybill

Great article, however i would not consider Crobat as a Plus-power, it is just dropping damage anywhere, any time!

  4. Rogue deck master.

Great artical, But I think you should run a couple special dark energys. I would call this the poor man's Luxchomp. LOL

  5. Sledd

I think this was a pretty good article, well written and a good idea. However, since you're already running Dark energies, you should switch out Honchkrow G for Sableye. They'll both be great starters. However, with Sableye you can get the Cyrus chain started, which will help you more in the long run. Also, you will still have the donk ability for things like Magicarp, Hoppip or other low HP pokemon.

  6. Mário Faccini Junior

Good idea, but you should also consider the poke power “Darkness Send”, sending some very important card from your opponent to the “lost zone”, I've been using a very similar list, but consider a Chatot RR and use your poke power ” disrupting Spy “where you look at four cards from the top deck of the opponent puts in the order you want, or you have a chance to send a card of the major opponent to the” Lost Zone. I hope I have helped him. Great article!!

  7. Mário Faccini Junior

You're right, but during the game sometimes we have to take some risks.

  8. JDarok SRMXP

    You have more than 20 T/S/S =P
    Try something like this:

    x2 Uxie LA
    x1 Uxie Lv.X
    x2 Garchomp C
    x2 Garchomp C Lv.X
    x1 Ambipom G
    x1 Bronzong G
    x2 Honchcrow
    x1 Chatot G
    x2 Crobat G
    x1 Phanpy
    x1 Domphan Prime
    x1 Unown Q
    x1 Azelf

    T~S~S: 27
    x4 Cyrus’s Conspiracy
    x4 Power Spray
    x3 SP Radar

Well, certainly, this is a very nice deck idea. I like how you mentioned that Absol and Garchomp may not have synergy and how you compared it with Luxchomp, where Luxray and Garchomp don't have synergy, but are now a good deck. That is a nice way to convince people to play that Absol and Garchomp deck that's for sure.

As for the list, I think this is a pretty good list. You really do have a proper list for this deck in my opinion. The only thing is, I would consider is making the darkness energy line being 3-3 (3 special dark, 3 basic dark). Consider this suggestion and the deck will be even better.

Still, nice deck article! I really think Absol G and Garchomp C can create one awesome deck.

  10. Colossus962

i think Slowkings future sight is a good tech for this deck. Being able to look at the top 3 of yours or your opponents deck will give you a better shot at getting important stuff out with darkness send.

  11. Just A Thought

Would be a good idea, but when you chatot G, do you put the good cards on top hoping to send them to the lost zone, what happens if you flip all tails, or they spray your absol power???

  12. Cam Graybill

yeah, I have them occasionally :P also, it should probably be 2-2 specdark and dark… that way you have 2 to grab with cyrus, and 2 to try and topdeck/uxie

  13. Cam Graybill

why is there a phan in there?… you could drop the donphan and phanpy to get another uxie and azelf, or you could get sabeleyes

edit: too many darks… 2-2 on dark-spec dark

  14. Drew Stillwell

The nice thing about absol is that it hits for weakness on gengar and dusknoir, two pokemon that seem to have some hype for next format. It also covers the resistance that garchomp has to work around, and provides a nice psychic resistance that is really helpful against gengar's poltergeist and random uxie/etc.

  15. Jean-Philippe Chen

if you ask me 2-2 absol is better =x take out the mismagius and add in honchcrow SV make it a 1-1 line take out 1 physic and 2 judges(what the hell are they doing there ==) than you add another collector and 1 more champions room and 1 more expert belt and that should do it :D as for the energy 2 special 2 normal darkness is ok :D

  16. Anthony Desiata

4 GAIN NO MATTER WHAT 4 GAIN idc what you say i will shove the fourth gain through this screen and make you eat it and spit it out to use it in play MUST have LuXURY ball and must must must must must have PREMIER BALL!!!!

  17. Alex Pike

In case you hadn't noticed this is only a rough draft list. The deck only has 51 cards lol so I should think he could add them in if/when he builds it

  18. Alex Pike

2-2 Absol may be better, depends how he plays them.
Mismagius is his tech for Mewtwo. What would Honchkrow SV achieve? Riot may be good if it's against ANOTHER SP deck but Darkness restore doesn't help this deck at all, whereas Mismagius will tech against a major threat to this deck, well… tech against what would be an auto-loss.

“What the hell are psychic and judge doing in there” Well psychic is in there for Mismagius and also Azelf if he's really in trouble. Judge. Well apart from the fact Judge is awesome, it's in there for hand
regeneration and also great disruption. A judge followed by Uxie is an awesome drawing mechanism.

Remember there are 9 FREE slots in the deck list. I agree you need at least a 3rd stadium and 4th energy gain, a 3rd collector would probably be useful too. If you're using energy gains, then you can't attach an expert belt too can you? And the whole point of the deck is speed so you're going to be using gains. Therefore adding another belt would be pointless.

I'd also pop in a second Uxie lv X. Give it something to do other than just sit there on the bench. I'd pop in a 4th radar and possibly a 3rd Judge. And you're playing Lv. X's so a premier balls are a must to retrieve the knocked out lv X's from the discard to play them onto the new basics.

  19. Jean-Philippe Chen

o.o darkness restore is is usefull against gyarados! and a mewtwo counter cause by the time mewtwo lvl x comes out, they will have a few pokemon in thier discard and you can restore them back and snipe with honch G. and 3 gain is OK. seriously if you want hand disruption use lookers cause in sp you normaly have a large hand and you would not want to shuffle it back in the deck. if you use judge you cant possibly gaurante you will get an uxie or something of the sort. so if you want hand disruption its lookers or nothing. another reason not to use mesmagius is cause you will have to discard 3 tools. and YOU DO REALISE that absol has an attack that goes through mewtwo? attach an expert belt and feint attack 40 in 3 turns it will die.if you lvl up even giga burn wont kill you you have resistance so….yeah…also i take back what i said about 2 special dark 2 normal i think 3 special dark 2 normal :D you only need one physic seriously == 3 radar is enough and i think add 2-3 pokemon communication

  20. Jean-Philippe Chen

and believe it or not with 4 stadiums i think you should add in skuntank as it poisons mewtwo since your soooooo worried about mewtwo.that way feint attack twice and it dies :D

  21. Adam Capriola

You can't Feint Attack Mewtwo with Honchkrow (that's what you're thinking,
    right?)

  22. pokefan1234

Sorry guys, I totally had a brain fart and 20 T/S/S but there really is 29, is that too much? Also, yes a variation of this deck is what I am using for CC/SC or any other tournaments. Thanks for the comments everyone though :D

  23. Alex Pike

3 turns is a long time to kill it when it can heal itself.
Also if they play belt the giga burn will still 1hko it.

Playing honchkrow SV to bring up a basic to the bench, then retreating to snipe it with honchkrow, which will also need at least 1 crobat, and may then not die as a lot more stuff to have out and do than put in a mismagius with a couple of energy and 1hko it.

  24. Alex Pike

    Lol “brain fart” haha.

I think it will probably make a pretty solid deck with a few tweaks.
Have you play tested it much?

  25. Andrewnicol13

one really bad thing about this deck is how energy starving, garchomp would eat up all the energy in this deck pritty easy but other than that it looks pritty solid

  26. Chris Barrieau

Plus you should chill a bit, Icy. ;) It's an idea deck. :P If you want to run your egain then go ahead :P

  27. Chris Barrieau

    I don't think it'd be too much :P I had a donk deck running 45 T/S/S. It would 1T or 2T win all the time. =]

  28. Adam Capriola

Mewtwo stops all basics…the only basic that can bother it (besides itself)
    is metal Arceus.

90% sure on this, you could ask on Pokegym.net though if you want
    clarification.

  29. Alex Pike

    Absol G – Faint Attack [D]

Choose 1 of your opponents Pokemon, this attack does 20 damage to that Pokemon. This attack's damage isn't affected by Weakness, Resistance, Poke-Powers, Poke-Bodies, or any other effects on that Pokemon.

    Absol G

There a quite a few Pokemon with attacks like this. Can't name any off the top of my head though.

  30. Alex Pike

Argh i broke the link lol

Wooooo does the happy dance ;D

I think Luxray and Garchomp do have synergy, actually. Between Luxray’s disruptiveness and Chomp C’s ability to snipe, it’s really difficult to get much of anything on the board. They also compliment each other when you use Healing Breath to get rid of Flash Bite damage.

I’d like to see this deck updated for 2011, since it’s an interesting idea that could actually play better than it may look on paper.
