Con Le’s Winning Nationals Decklist (?)

I saw this article posted on the official Pokémon Organized Play website (soon to be Play! Pokémon) and they actually have some decent lists posted from Nationals participants, all of whom apparently made at least top 32.

I suspect the one list is Con Le’s Sablelock as it has Honchkrow SV tech… I don’t think anybody else played that, so it’s likely that this is what he used:

Pokémon – 29

1 Uxie LV.X LA
2 Garchomp C SV
2 Garchomp C LV.X SV
1 Unown Q MD

1 VS. Seeker

My apologies if it isn’t his list, but it looks pretty solid regardless.

Con stated that he ran 2-2 Honchkrow when interviewed … so this probably isn't his.

Well, so Pokemon.com has posted some decks that made top 32 right? Well, now that's pretty interesting, and to be exact, all of those lists are pretty decent actually, especially the Sablelock list. In fact, they look pretty good, I can consider as a basic deck structure for each of these three decks.

The only problem I seem to have noticed is that in the Sablelock list, there are actually 29 T/S/S, and within the same list, there are actually 19 Pokemon, so it appears that Pokemon.com switched the number of Pokemon and T/S/S/ in the deck by accident. Only the Plox deck seems to be running 19 T/S/S as well.

this isnt cons list this is alex frezza's list they were close but still difrent

  4. tyler jones

the list posted is a list that was in top 32. there are differences between his list and this one. in top 16 there was a sablelock also being played that played honchkrow sv and that was a freind of mine alex frezza. this looks more like Alex's list than Cons list. disapointed because i would have loved to see Cons list. :[

I have one question about the SableLock deck.. Why is there a Felicity's Drawing in the deck? I can not think of a good purpose for this…Can some one enlighten me?

  6. heroclix

i dont think anyone would post the nationals winning decklist list before worlds, so it would only make sense that this list belongs to the kid that was in top 16 with it.

  7. JWittz

He never said anything about 2-2 honchcrow, just that he ran “multiple honchcrow”. This could be referring to the Honchcrow G, which it probably is

  8. JWittz

Yeah, I hate how pop has just started randomly dropping lists on their site with no credit to the makers. It exposes lists that people worked hard to make

  9. Brit Pybas

I don't understand why TPCi would do this. If these people want scrubs to see their lists, they would post them in their tournament reports. Deck building should mean something to players, as it creates an individuality and uniqueness for the 'archetype' being created. It would seem Pokemon is willing to throw those aspects of the game aside and encourage net-decking in hopes to move product. The ability to construct competitive and consistant decks is what sets apart the greats apart from the average player and if you rely on net-decking or someone else's list, you'll never improve.

Haha man I had a feeling it might have been you… did they even tell you
    they posted it?

  11. mewuk85

maybe they had a bad hand, and wanted to draw for more cards.

  12. ESP

Wow, that list only plays 6 SPs but 4 sprays. I don't think that that would be the most consistent play, especially since Sableye doesn't usually play call.

  13. mewuk85

You mean NONE of you had the opportunity to play CON LE at nationals? Not even for a last min sit down test?

I hope Con wins world champ!

  14. Carter Giese

hes right a 2-2 honcrow could of been possible and jwittz big fan of the show!

  15. chrataxe

I saw this a few days ago on Pokemon.com. Never really could figure out how Steelix was working…that seems pretty fun to play. Had enough shock factor to work, but I don't think it will be too competitive anymore. Although, any healing tank is hard to deal with…

  16. Karol Nowak

No, I wasn't offended, but I can tell you this. English is not my second language, for it is my main language I speak and write.

  17. PKMNPrime

Is English your second language? Your writing is pretty redundant, and usually goes nowhere. Sorry for being rude if it's not.

  18. steve12

yeah felicity's doesnt seem to make sense at all in the list. imo opinion i have seen better sablelock than this one posted.

  19. mewuk85

oh yeah! its one of my favorite decks. sableye can donk as well as clean up. yeah this one is kind of scattered. you never know if he got lucky really lucccckkkkyyyyy he could have DONKED all rounds and made it in LOL LOL LOL. :)

  20. mewuk85

Hey Adam!!!!!!! I have a request. I would like to hear your pre-release report? Just to see how you did, and what new cards you like.

  21. Sal Beatini

I believe Con ran 1 Felicity's to get rid of Sableye late game.

  22. guest101

christain ortiz. Alex ran sableye for nationals. he got knocked out of top 16 by gino playing jumpluff. he told me all about how he lost and im certain that he was palying sableye. where did you get luxchomp from??? lol

  23. guest101

i highly think that luck played a big role at all. 826 attendance, 16 rounds….. i dont think so lol. read his report he only got one donk thru out the whole tourny, then got donked in top 2 game 1. you really cant donk your way to winning nats LOL LOL LOL. :)

  24. Adam Capriola

I didn't go to any prereleases and don't have plans to go to any, sorry man.

  25. fainting spell

this is most definitely not con le's deck -.- in fact its not even close

  26. Jay

The list isn’t Cons, I have Con’s list. Over all this list looks alright, after Nats Con showed me his deck, he some very distintive techs in there this is missing. They posted Gardy a Masters list, Steelix a Seniors list? this might be a Juniors??

  27. Tyler Z

That isn’t Con Le’s list. The list is actually Kyle M’s list. Con Le’s list is not even close to being similar.

    Con played 2-2 Honchkrow SV
