I got a fancy MacBook Pro a few weeks ago and I definitely feel like I’m part of the club now… I feel 10% snobbier already.
It works great, but one issue with the Mac is that I know it’s supposed to be hard to play the Pokémon TCG over the internet. We had a guide on here explaining how to install Apprentice, but since I didn’t have a Mac I couldn’t exactly follow the guide and make sure it worked.
Well now that I have a Mac, I thought I’d give the guide a go… but I was lost at step 1. Either that guide became outdated or didn’t work in the first place.
I decided that I would take matters into my own hands and spend several obscenity filled hours trying to get it to work… today I emerge with a flawless 3 step install.
Really there were 2 separate issues: Hamachi and Apprentice.
Hamachi works really weird on Mac… you do it all by text and command line jargon… sounds weird but it works.
Apprentice works normally, but you have to adjust the chat box. No biggie.
Check out the updated guide and let me know if you come across any issues. I tried to make the simplest install possible, but if it doesn’t work then I have an alternative setup I can type out.
I guess this would also be a good time to see if there’s anyone out there that is working on an Undaunted patch (hint hint).

It was pretty silly that there was no definite Mac guide out there… I'm sure there are tons of people who have Macs that haven't been able to play. Hopefully this tutorial will be relevant for a while.
And yeah Hamachi looks prehistoric… but it works!
