Hello everyone, my name is Eric and this is the first article I’ve written for SixPrizes. I thought I’d send in a deck idea I had with the yet to be released Magnezone Prime. I’ll be discussing a few cards that have not yet been released yet, so I’ll give you the decklist here and then explain.
Magnezone Decklist
Pokémon – 21
4 Magnemite |
T/S/S – 28
3 Broken Time-Space |
Energy – 11
7 L |
I will start by discussing the Pokémon used in this deck.
Pokémon
Magnezone Prime: This Pokémon has a respectable 140 HP. Its Poké Power “Electromagnetic Draw” is akin to Claydol’s “Cosmic Power,” but lacks the ability to put cards from your hand back underneath your deck. While this power lacks the versatility of Claydol, it will still help setup quite a bit.
Magnezone’s attack Lost Burn does 50× the amount of Energy you place into the Lost Zone from all of your Pokémon. This attack suffers from losing your energy from the game completely. However as a last ditch attack or against a beefy HP Pokémon this is a pretty powerful attack.
Here is its exact translation:
Magnezone (Prime) – Lightning – HP140
Stage 2 – Evolves from Magneton
Poké-Power: Electromagnetic Draw
You can use this power once during your turn. Draw cards from your deck until you have 6 cards in your hand. This power can’t be used if this Pokémon is affected by a Special Condition.
LC Lost Burn: 50× damage. Place any number of Energy attached to your Pokémon in play into the Lost Zone. This attack does 50 damage for each of those Energy cards.
Weakness: Fighting (x2)
Resistance: Metal (-20)
Retreat: 3
Magnezone SF: This Magnezone is used for its energy acceleration ability with the pokepower “Super Connectivity” this will allow you to build up your Magnezone’s faster at the cost of putting one counter on them. It can also be used as a secondary attacker with its Gyroball attack.
pokemon-paradijs.comMagnezone LV.X: Finally, this Magnezone is used for its “Electric Trans” Poké Power. This will allow for free transit of energy between your Pokémon and comes with a decent attack doing 80 plus paralysis.
Pacharisu: This new pokemon that will be released in the HGSS: Triumphant set allows a much needed energy acceleration to this deck. Pacharisu’s power “Self Charge” allows you to attach two L Energy cards from your hand to your Pacharisu when you play Pacharisu from your hand to your bench. I really feel like this card has a lot of potential in many decks.
Palkia & Dialga LEGEND: This legend card is simply to add prizes to your opponents field with the attack Manipulate Time.
Strategy
The strategy to this deck is to build up both a Magnezone Prime and Magnezone SF while using Spiritomb. This will allow building up your hand and energy acceleration. While both Magnezone’s have a poor weakness to fighting types with the addition of the LV.X the weakness can be replaced with a more manageable Fire type weakness.
This deck can hit both hard and create difficulties with the addition of Palkia & Dialga LEGEND. With Pacharisu you should be able to put down two Energy and move them over to your Magnezone with the “Electric Trans” power.
Conclusion
While a few of these cards haven’t released yet I thought it’d be interesting to at least start thinking about combos with these new cards. I think with a few tweeks this could be a really fun deck that consists of several options while playing.
I thought I was the Pioneer of this deck and I was going to write the article for this tonight. Wow. :/ Nice article though. :D
raichu from HGSS, use pachirisu to attach 2 lightning then magnezones lv.x power to transfer it, conductive quarry to put back lightning or metal
Lost Burn does only 50 damage per Energy _card_ placed on the Lost Zone, in case of overlooking that. DCE adds only 50 damage because of this. I love the idea of playing Dialga Palkia Legend in a Magnezone. Not sure if it works, but it does sound a sweet idea. xD
Loved the use of “whilst.”
