This is a deck I have been working on creating. My friend first introduced me to the idea of using Typhlosion Prime and Ursaring Prime in the same deck and I liked it. I’ve been working with the idea and taken a lot of tips from others to create this decklist:
Pokémon
4 Cyndaquil HS |
T/S/S
3 Expert Belt |
Energy
10 R |
Typlosion Prime: This is the main card of you would like to start with. It has a consistent attack of 70 and is not challenging to get out in a couple turns. Its Poké-Power “Afterburner” will let you return the energy lost by his attack at the cost of one damage counter. It could also be used to return an energy lost by Engineer’s Adjustments.
pokebeach.comUrsaring Prime: This is the card that will become your attacker as the game goes on. It is easily built up with DCEs and its Poké-Body “Berserk” requires one damage counter. This Poké-Body is where Ursaring Prime pairs well with Typhlosion Prime.
When you use Afterburner and attach the energy to Ursaring it will initiate his Body allowing him to do 60 additional damage on each of its attacks. So, upon the turn of playing Ursaring, you could easily be doing 90 damage. Add an Expert Belt to that and you will be doing 110 on your first turn of playing Ursaring.
Now if you are able to get multiple Typhlosion Prime on your Bench you can recover multiple energies each turn. This could allow you to get Ursaring’s 2nd attack upon the turn of playing him, but that will require a lot of set up. The only thing that is a downside to this card in this situation is its Retreat Cost of 3. However, this is not a big deal as you could recover these energies easily using Afterburner. In fact, this could be a method used to transfer the energies off your weak Ursaring onto a healthier Ursaring.
Uxie LV.X: This is purely used for its draw power. Giving you a choice between two cards each turn, it really gives you some serious draw power.
All in all, I believe this is a good deck and it has good potential in a local league. I don’t expect this deck to reach high levels of competition or to compare to LuxChomp and other decks in the current meta, but I think it is fun to play and a pretty solid combination. Comments are highly appreciated.
I think you could’ve done a much better job explaining why you put all the cards in there as well as a little bit more about the strategy. You have a full decklist there — maybe a little more info about why you chose the cards you did.
Also, have you thougt about trying Ninetales GS in this deck? It might work, discarding Fire energies and giving you draw power at the same time.

I would think that you want Ninetails to dump NRG and provide draw power.

-1-1-1 Typloshion
+1 Chatot G
+1 BTS
+1 Palmer’s
-1-1 Ursaring
+2 Candy
I’d put a 1-1 or 2-2 Ninetales line in there for draw power
I’ll agree that if you drop the Uxie and instead put in the Ninetails line it’ll make the deck a little more consistent. Looks eerily similar to a deck I played against at Battle Roads.
i think you need a 2-2 ninetails line and slowking hs is nice because you can discard your opponents top card..

Slowking?
I don’t quite understand why slowking would be necessary in this deck either.
Slowking’s Power: Look at the top 3 cards of either players deck, then return them to the top of that deck in any order.
Then when you attack with Hammer Arm you can always discard the most important card.
ah I see now… that does sound good. Only thing is I have no clue what I would take out.
Honestly I could see slowking hgss teched in any deck. Its like Chatot g except for on the top 3 cards but on the other hand it can either help you or disrupt your opponent.
In this deck, Ninetales is a must. Not just for draw power but after discarding the fire energy use Typhlosion to get back that energy and attach to Urasring giving it the damage counter to activate berserk.
Totally agree. You have to have Ninetales with Roast Reveal. Cool article!
I love this deck. So simple and straight forward I bet it’s really consistent. But I’d say – engineers and somehow squeeze some ninetails in here… very necessary in this one.
drop the typhlosion line to 2-1-2, and uh run 3-3 ninetales drop engineers for one more rare candy and another pokemon communication and take out one pokemon collector for another bebes, and take out bothe uxe lv.x for two spiritomb i made this dek with poke drawer plus it was consistent
Thanks for the tips. I’ll probably add a 2-2 Ninetales line in there once i get the card (just ordered 2 online). I really like this card and had never seen it before.
