Beautiful presentation you have here. If I were to build this myself, I think it would be best to stick with Platinum Blissey as it aids Steelix Prime’s energy acceleration without depleting him of whatever energy he had attached previously.

Adam’s note; “where’s the love for 6p at the end?”… He was probably afraid that would get mad at him for mentioning your name, as if he were trying to steal all of your fan base or something. everyone knows you shouldn’t associate yourself with other people/places that like pokemon, because they’re totally exclusive and can’t share support for two sites at the same time. he was probably afraid that you would feel threatened by him or something if he mentioned you.
Anonymous
That makes perfect sense. That must be why he mentioned two other websites, too.
Jordan Baker
Guess you missed the joke… He was mocking you. Remember last week?
Anonymous
I got the joke. But the joke doesn’t make any sense because 1) sixprizes is a website with articles and Pokemondan does videos. Apples and oranges. 2) Sixprizes gave him a lot of views– why would he feel threatened? 3) He mentioned two other sites that weren’t Sixprizes. If he’s still upset with me he can bring it to me instead of taking the conversation out of context in a joke that makes no sense.
Jordan Baker
i meeeaaaan it was a joke. Don’t get offended. Just laugh it off and maybe everyone will forget about your tirade.

Adam – yeah I think it would be cool for him to give you guys a shout out, I wasn’t being serious at all in my first post. just a 100% sarcastic comment trying to make light of the situation that got so heated last week. I think it shaped a lot of peoples’ opinions of other people and I was just being a jackass basically and making a joke of it.
Jwittz – maybe it’s still too soon, but I kind of thought that the thing had blown over enough to where we could all laugh at it and reminisce and think to ourselves “man that whole thing was really really dumb.” Don’t take it so personally, or maybe, just don’t take it so seriously. I was just being sarcastic. If you’re gonna put yourself out there in the public eye, you’re gonna need some thicker skin dude. Be extremely grateful to the people out there who support you like Adam or PokemonDan, (instead of telling him not to associate himself with you) and don’t pay any attention to the haters. I’ve met you in real life and felt that you were a pretty humble, pretty nice guy. But on the internet you come across as a totally pretentious, arrogant, whiny narcissist. that’s really not meant as an insult, I just think you should think longer and harder before you post something on the internet, and yes I realize I should take my own advice on that subject. sorry if I’m coming across as an a-hole, really not trying to, basically I just wanna say my initial post was just poking fun at the situation, not trying to stir a bunch of crap up over again. I’m gonna try to let bygones be bygones and respect you as a real person, not as an internet persona, because like I said the way I’ve seen you act in real life is a person I could get along with, but the internet “fame” has gotten kind of tiresome.

I gotcha. I guess that’s one of the big problems with a text-based media generation–you can’t really tell what’s an insult and what’s a joke sometimes. I really do feel dumb with the “internet persona” thing because in real life, I could never imagine myself saying the things I said. At this point I wouldn’t even be mad if “Josh Wittenkeller sucks” was part of Dan’s tags. They’re just tags. Most of my fans are from the 11-15 year old range, too–I’m upset because I didn’t set a good example. Hopefully in time things will change– maybe me and Dan will start some kind of cross-promotion and I’ll get my respect back from you guys.
On a side note, was it MO regionals that I met you, or nationals? You look really familiar.
Guy Elias Sargent IV
yeah, I guess I’m a pretty sarcastic and non-serious dude in real life but over the internet I tend to just come across as an a-hole. I met you at a MO states and regionals, I didn’t go to nationals this past season. like I said, I know enough about you in person that you haven’t lost my respect, but I understand it can be very hard to be true to who you really are when you’re trying to appeal to the masses over an electronic medium. Hopefully I’ll see you around at some tournament in MO!
Adam Capriola
Over 700 views on his last video came from this site, I just think it would have been nice to get some mention.
Regardless I’ll still post his videos here because I think most people would enjoy watching them.
Joshua Pikka
Ahh dont get too mad Adam. Your buddies at Team Omar were the ones who discovered him.
It seems like ever since you started posting his videos, someone has been getting mad.
Lets choose not to get mad.
Ed Mandy
Yeah, to be fair to Pikkdogs, he was the one that clued me in on the Pokeclass vids, and after that I chatted with Dan about it for a while.
I just got done watching the video, and my initial reaction was that he just wanted to feature a couple sites that aren’t well known. You probably deserve thanks for getting him more views, but I doubt that anyone watching his video didn’t already know about SixPrizes.com. There are probably many people that either didn’t know about http://www.TeamOmar.com or http://pokenews.devhub.com/
And, Pikk, I don’t think Adam was mad. Adam has never been one to shy away from spreading links to other sites/content. He just deserves some thanks when he does.
So, THANKS, Adam!
Joshua Pikka
agreed
Sergio Ortiz
yeah, But watching them via 6P is even better :P
Daniel Middleton
Hey :) Thanks for all the comments everyone, didn’t even realise this was on here!
I will mention 6P in the next one, I did get a big amount of views from this site so it deserves some recognition, sorry was completely overlooked by mistake.

Great episode, Dan! It’s nice to see an analysis of decks that aren’t talked about often!
My cousin played Steelix in seniors near the end of last year where he went undefeated for 2 (or was it 3? tournaments). He ran glalie in his, too. In the US nationals he went 6-3, losing to luxape (pretty much an autoloss), and then 2 gengar. Gengar was a fairly positive matchup, but in the first game he prized 2 claydol and in the second he prized all 3 of his steelix :P. I tested with the deck a lot last format and here’s my opinions:
-One huge advantage steelix, or “healix”, had last year was the ability to run additional heal cards with Blissey prime. Top32 at worlds in masters, Erik Nance ran 4x Life Herb, we preferred 4x MooMoo milk. Now with all the trainer lock, I’m not sure if I’d suggest still running these, but I’d at least give them a try–having the chance to heal 60 hp+20 more from blissey PT is just devastating.
-Erik Nance also interestingly added solrock/lunatone as his draw instead of claydol because he feared the bright look to his claydol. Unfortunately, the lunatone he used and claydol are rotated now, hurting the deck a lot more than others because of its slower setup.
-Blaziken also wasn’t as popular back then as it is now, making it a bigger threat to current steelix builds. If your meta runs any risk of fire, take Pokemondan’s advice and throw in glalie+conductive quarry/broken time space.
-One tech that I’d still suggest is Lucian’s Assignmnet or the Shaymin from UD, both which let you move energy around. Combined with switch/warp point/warp energy, you can move all of your energy from a steelix that is about to be knocked out with a new steelix on the bench. It’s a drag building those 5 energy back up again if you lose them (usually 4 with dce), so running a way to prevent it can help.
-Ultimately, I think Scizor Prime is *slightly* better than steelix because of his slight increase in speed and his pokebody. Since skarmory is an option for starters now both steelix and skarmory accelerate energy at the same speed. At 5 energy scizor prime does 130 damage–or 110 for 4 energy if you’re assuming Steelix has a dce to compare the costs. He can also attack right off the bat with 70 for 2 in the time steelix would be charging or using energy stream. Steelix does have 40 more hp though, which is still a huge plus that he has over Scizor. I’d say that since they’re both so similar, I’ll try running them like pokemondan suggested, with both in the same deck.
Daniel Middleton
Thanks for the feedback. You have a lot of knowledge that has helped expand on the video, thanks.

hello sir… i’m a newbie player… i’ve been subscribing to pokemandan and your vidoe’s on youtube… i have a question that’s bugging me… can i ask what’s the difference in a steelix prime deck, and a scizor prime deck? steelix heals via blissey PL just as the video says… but what about scizor? as scizor doesn’t have a way to recover energies like steelix does? if healing is not scizors thing then what is? i ask this cause i’m trying to build a scizor prime deck myself sir… looking forward to your answer… thanks in advance… :D
Guy Elias Sargent IV
Dan, why no mention of engineer’s adjustments? get rid of skarmorys, put in some engineer’s and some energy exchanger and play it more straight forward ( although I do love sableyes in this), and you can consistently be ready to gaia crush on your third turn with a well tanked steelix.
anyways I really enjoyed seeing a video done on something that hasn’t been overly talked about, rather than just a “hey, here’s a recap of decks in battle roads here’s a bunch of crap you all already know about diaglachomp and vileplume derp derp.”
Daniel Middleton
Yeah, engineer’s adjustments would be great in the deck aswell along with energy exchanger for the special metals rather than using Skarmory, I’m just aware of trainer lock decks being popular at the moment.
Thanks for the reply.
chrataxe
Running both BLissey is pretty sweet. The beauty of the Blissey PT is that most things hit for ~100. If you are reducing by 40 and only taking 60, that means you buy yourself at least another turn.
