This week, I’m analysing a deck that I played against the other day and realised it can pack quite a punch. Hitting for weakness every turn can seem like a complicated strategy and this may be the case, but Arceus manages to pull it off!
Enjoy!

This is off subject of Arceus, but is it official that it will be RR-on?
John Wright
There hasn’t been any official announcement that the format will be RR-on, as of yet.
Ron Routhier
I would be very weary on listening to or believing any info you hear about a rotation that is still TEN MONTHS away. Last rotation 99% of the people online and in leagues thought that the entire D&P line (all 7 sets) would rotate out. Big mistake for those people who took that advice. Common sense would dictate that they only get rid of the final 3 sets of D&P, and then they can rotate all of Platinum (4 sets) one year, HGSS the following year, etc….
But that’s just MY line of thinking, which everybody should take lightly.
Brenden Clark
Ohh ok.
dunnod
When will the next rotation be announced? I know that might be too soon but I’ve heard about a mid-season rotation (that’s just still speculation). When do they usually tell us about the rotation anyways?
Matthew Tidman
That would make a lot of sense, but they left three sets from D&P last year, so they don’t always make sense with their decisions. But definitely agreed that it is way too early to discuss it. We should see at least two more sets before the rotation happens and a lot can change by September.
venny kid
There’s no way they’re going to keep Platinum and let SP run this mess for ANOTHER year. I just don’t see that happening. On RR, I have no idea, but it’d sure be annoying to have Luxray GL win Worlds 3+ times in a row. But that’s just my humble opinion.
Austin Mitchell
Even if RR did stay Luxray would be pretty useless without poketurn.
George
Uh….don’t forget they just added Seeker which isn’t as effective as PokeTurn, but will work with Luxray GL Lv X’s Free Retreat Cost.
Martin Garcia
Seeker doesnt make any difference. Without the Cyrus engine, the rest of luxchomp (and all sp, for that matter) will just be a tier 2 or even 3 deck. Remember there wont be spray, poketurn, e-gain or cyrus. Also, no more dialga G, so trainer lock becomes HUGE. SP doesnt stand a change if platinum is rotated.
George
I won’t really complain about that. It is time for something else. SP has influenced the game long enough, don’t you think?
Nick Galli
Not long enough
Perry Going
well TPC wants there at end the format with 13 sets then take away 4 so we start the next season with 9 and then end with 13 again… thats why we got MD on instead of PL on
Ian Sedelow
You changed the music! YES
Matthew Tidman
Ok, one minor thing. If the format ever becomes HGSS-on Arceus will not be in it since the cards were released in the Arceus set. If you made an annotation correcting yourself, I apologize because the iPhone app doesn’t allow for annotations.
It’s a really fun deck to run, but it does have problems against Machamp SF.
Egbert Levenstone
It would be funny if Arceus was opted out of the rotation because he’s God. o.o

In my part of the universe, we pronounce Arceus using the soft “c”. Thus, Ar-see-us.
Anyways you’ve put another great video again, Dan.
chrataxe
That’s because you pronounce it wrong ;)
Mark B
Um, no.
John Rea
My friends and I pronounce, Arceus using the soft “c”. Thus, Ar-see-us, as well :D

Back on topic…nice episode…but how do you deal with Machamp, if at all?
Marcel Mravec
Nice article, but why do you need each type of energy? IMHO you need just every type of Arceus once (lv.x and colorless at least 3, water and possibly dark 2). IMHO you are going to use either skyspear via lv.x for double weakness or for bench sniping, then I would use attack from water arceus using my active lv.x with belt – with correct arceus type underneath you are able to shoot 140 or 70 if you don’t have right type.
Whatever reason i just don’t want to use psychic arceus attack at all. I would use 3 water, 2 dark, 3 fire energies, 3-4 call and 2-4 DCE – I’m not sure about correct number of energies.
Michael Randolph
You need 4 great ball, and in order to overcome your Machamp matchups you need Lucario GL. I have never really ran the Metal Arceus. 3 Colorless and 3 Lv X should suffice, with the usual 2 dark, 2 fire, 1 leaf, 1 psychic, 2 electric, and 2 water and possible the 1 fighting. No need for expert belt or plus powers. 4 Rainbow and 4 DCE with at least 2 fire and 2 dark energy, seeing as how the colorless/dark/fire arceus are your most frequent attackers with water arceus being next in line. Premier ball also helps allot I suggest running 1 or 2.

I recommend getting rid of the bebe’s and palmers, and adding in 3 dual balls and 1 or 2 unown q, since your hitting for weakness, you might wanna add in one more fire type just to do 80 damage while hes on your bench and have arceus x out, also you might wanna run not 3/4 arceus x but 5/6 so that almost everyone on your feild will be an x
