Hello again, 6P readers! I hope everyone is doing well. For this next article, I’ll be going over three strong decks that performed well at the fourth Limitless Online Series Qualifier then give my personal changes to each deck moving forward. Recently, Limitless held its third and fourth Online Series Qualifiers which had over 1,100 and 1,300 players respectively. That’s pretty awesome considering they aren’t official events.
The three decks I’ll be discussing are decks I’ve been meaning to talk about even before the Limitless events happened, so it’s pretty cool that the three decks made it far with one of them ultimately winning the whole event. Those three decks are:
- Zacian V/Combo,
- ADP-GX/Spiritomb UNB, and finally
- Spiritomb UNB/Ultra Beasts.
These decks are big threats in the format right now and will continue to dominate if players aren’t careful.

Key Cards
Oranguru SSH, 1 Jirachi p, 1 Mr. Mime DET
2This combo is why the deck has combo in its name and is a force to be reckoned with, even against Fire-based decks like Blacephalon. To do the combo correctly, you have to:
- Use Oranguru SSH to place Jirachi p on top of your deck.
- Then use Mr. Mime DET to replace one of your Prize cards with the top card of your deck (i.e., Jirachi p). You will know exactly where Jirachi p is because you can put it wherever you like into your Prize cards.
- Once you take a Prize, you simply remember to select Jirachi and put it onto your Bench (remember to have a Bench spot for Jirachi or else the effect will not work).
Mawile-GX
1Being able to force Pokémon onto the opponent’s Bench can be crucial to victory. If you are able to force down a GX, then you can potentially take 2+ Prizes on it depending on what it is. On top of that, if you force the opponent to put down a Dedenne-GX, for instance, then its Ability will have been wasted. Also, filling their Bench with Pokémon they don’t want on their Bench can be helpful as well.
Mew UNB
1Mainly used for its Ability against PikaRom so that Tag Bolt-GX is unable to take more than 2 Prize cards at a time. If this happens, you may fall too far behind on the Prize trade.
Sonia
2It was interesting to see not one but two copies of this card in the winning list. After trying the card out, it’s actually very good in this deck because it makes finding your combo pieces much easier. Not only that, but you can grab whichever 2 Basic Pokémon you want. I’m now a fan of Sonia after seeing it in this deck for sure.
Metal Goggles over Metal Frying Pan
I can see why Taketo went with Metal Goggles over Metal Frying Pan, because of cards like Dragapult VMAX that would put damage counters on your Pokémon. Metal Goggles prevents those damage counters. Goggles is also quite good in the mirror match because the opponent will be unable to 1HKO Zacian V with one of their own, unless they use a Tool Scrapper. Quite frankly, Goggles is one of the reasons Taketo was able to beat Azul in the finals of Qualifier #4.
Scoop Up Net
4This card helps reuse both Mr. Mime DET and Jirachi p. By picking them back up you are able to do the combo again. In a perfect world, you can combo three times if you use your resources efficiently. This is why this deck can beat anything and we saw three of them in Top 8.
Tool Scrapper
1As I said, Scrapper is used to get rid of Metal Goggles and Metal Frying Pan. However, getting rid of other Tools such as Big Charm will help us take those 1HKOs much easier as well.
Changes Moving Forward
- -1 Mawile-GX
-1 Mew UNB
+4th Jirachi TEU
+2nd Mr. Mime DET - -1 Boss’s Orders
+2nd Escape Board
I’m not a big fan of Mawile-GX or Mew UNB, so I’d replace those with more consistency. I’d add a 4th copy of Jirachi TEU so that you can open it more often. I’d add another Mr. Mime DET in case you prize it, plus it then becomes easier to find since it’s searchable, unlike Scoop Up Net, in case you need to combo again.
I would also drop 1 Boss’s Orders for a 2nd Escape Board because I think two is correct if you are going to play 4 Jirachi TEU. Azul played two copies of Boss’s Orders, so I think two is fine to run.
Potential Inclusions
Zamazenta V
Some decks are playing Pokémon VMAX such as Dragapult VMAX and Toxtricity VMAX, so Zamazenta V can be used as a wall until you set up or as an attacker. However, I’d recommend not attacking with it since it barely even 2HKOs stuff.
Dusk Mane Necrozma SM107
If you need to set up a 2HKO on a Pokémon-GX such as PikaRom, then Dusk Shot can be clutch. Azul played a copy in his 2nd place list at Qualifier #4.
Tapu Fini UNM
Given that Blacephalon UNB can be a threat to this deck I recommend playing Tapu Fini UNM if you expect Blacephalon to rise even more. However, I think Blacephalon can still struggle against Zacian V/Combo even without Tapu Fini. You just have to make sure you take the first 2 Prize cards before Blacephalon does.

Key Cards
ADP-GX
2You will want to use Altered Creation-GX as fast as possible to make sure you get the added 30 damage boost and extra Prize card. All of your Spiritomb will be able to do lethal damage and take multiple Prize cards for just a single Energy card.
Jynx UNM
2Its Ability, Ominous Posture, can make Anguish Cry do even more damage by moving damage counters off of Spiritomb UNB onto another Spiritomb once you have used their Ability, Building Spite. You can reuse Jynx via Super Scoop Up if needed to try and get extra damage counters on Spiritomb for even more damage. Or, if ADP-GX has damage counters on it via Shrine of Punishment, you can move some of that damage too.
Hustle Belt
3This card can make Anguish Cry do some serious damage. Once Spiritomb has 30 HP or less remaining, Hustle Belt will activate and add an extra 60 damage to your attacks.
Shrine of Punishment
2This card puts damage counters on Pokémon-EX/GX between turns on both sides. However, this can benefit us because you can move damage counters off of ADP-GX to fuel Anguish Cry via Ominous Posture as mentioned earlier.
Damage Boost Modifiers
- 1 damage counter on Spiritomb UNB = 40 damage.
- 2 = 70 damage (enough to take down Jirachi TEU, an opposing Spiritomb UNB, and other low-HP Pokémon).
- 3 = 100 damage or 160 w/ Hustle Belt (enough to take down Dedenne-GX or Dragapult VMAX).
- 4 = 130 damage (enough to take down Blacephalon UNB and other relevant non-GX/Pokémon V) or 190 w/ Hustle Belt (enough to take down some Pokémon-GX and V, such as Heatran-GX and Victini V).
- 5 = 160 damage or 220 w/ Hustle Belt (enough to take down Zacian V).
Let’s not forget that Altered Creation adds an extra 30 damage as well, so theoretically Anguish Cry maxes out at 250 damage (enough to take down PikaRom-GX and other big threats). Sometimes it’s ideal to use Altered Creation for just a single M Energy so you at least get the damage boost when facing GX/V-heavy decks, and especially TAG TEAM decks because you only have to KO 2 TAG TEAMs to win anyway, making the extra Prize card sometimes irrelevant.
Changes Moving Forward
- -4 Super Scoop Up
+4 Scoop Up Net - -1 Big Charm
+2nd Escape Board
I personally prefer to go with Scoop Up Net because they guarantee you a reuse on Jynx (instead of flipping for it with Super Scoop Up). However, Super Scoop Up can be used to pick up ADP-GX after it’s been used so that it’s no longer a liability. Still, I think it might be more important to make sure you achieve those 1HKOs by reusing multiple Jynx UNM when needed.
I prefer the 2nd copy of Escape Board to have it when needed. It always feels nice once you can freely retreat Jirachi TEU when promoting it after a KO.
Potential Inclusions
Mew UNB
Denying a KO on your Benched Pokémon from PikaRom can be game-changing. PikaRom is a very strong deck right now, so Mew might be needed moving forward, though I’m still not a fan of it.
Tapu Fini UNM
By playing this card it’ll make taking a KO on Blacephalon UNB much easier in case you are unable to 1HKO it with Anguish Cry.

Key Cards
Spiritomb UNB
4This is your main attacker against Dragapult VMAX decks given that they are type-weak to Darkness Pokémon.
Buzzwole FLI
1This will be the deck’s counter to PikaRom-GX. Sledgehammer can do some serious damage if the opponent is unaware of it.
Pheromosa & Buzzwole-GX
1Great card in the mirror because of its GX attack, Beast Game-GX, which can take at least 2 Prize cards on an opposing Spiritomb UNB. You can also use Jet Punch to take Prize cards in the mirror or set up KOs.
Nihilego LOT
1Great card once the opponent is at 2 Prize cards remaining. You can copy any attack from your opponent’s side of the field. Mewtwo & Mew-GX will easily be taken down by Nihilego LOT due to Weakness. You never know what attack you can copy. Most times the opponent will not see Nightcap coming.
Other key cards, such as Hustle Belt and Shrine of Punishment, I talked about already, so I won’t delve into them again. Just scroll back up to the ADP-GX/Spiritomb UNB section.
Changes Moving Forward
- -1 Mew UNB
+1 Oranguru SSH
I think the list is near perfect, so if I expect PikaRom to see less play then I’d replace Mew UNB with Oranguru SSH to boost consistency even more and save resources when you need to use Professor’s Research.
Potential Inclusions
Blacephalon-GX
Burst-GX can guarantee a Prize card in case you are unable to take a KO on something.
Scoop Up Net
Reusing Jynx UNM, as stated before, can be clutch in taking a big KO. It’s interesting to see Andrew not playing any Scoop Up Net because it combos so well with Jynx. My guess is that he just didn’t have the room for it and preferred to keep the deck as consistent as possible.
Conclusion
That will conclude this article on three strong decks that performed well at the fourth Limitless Online Series Qualifier. My favorite deck right now will have to be Zacian V/Combo. It was my favorite deck ever since I saw Azul Garcia Griego playing it on stream. The deck is just a lot of fun and can beat anything if played right. The two Spiritomb decks are pretty much decks that are meant to beat Dragapult VMAX but also have ways to triumph over many other decks, as you saw with the Ultra Beast variant.
I’ll have another article this month, so stay tuned for that when it’s published. I hope everyone has a nice day. Be sure to try and stay busy as it’ll help with the absence of traveling to events. But most importantly be safe.
