Plasma in a Post-Catcher World “Pokemon Catcher was the last piece of the puzzle for Plasma. Even as it stands now, it has the best non-EX attacker in the game in Kyurem PLF, Energy acceleration from Thundurus EX and Colress Machine, damage manipulation through Deoxys, and the ability to attack with any of the above on a whim. However, the issue here is that the things that Plasma has going for it are nearly outweighed by the removal of the gusting ability that a consistent Catcher offered. How useful is this versatility if your opponent forces you to attack who they want you to attack?…
Mew Box/Jirachi for San Diego and Mew Box w/o Jirachi at LAIC + Daytona Beach “One of the things I like most about my list is the fact that it doesn’t use Weakness Guard Energy, Guzma & Hala, or Stealthy Hood, yet it still has a game plan against Malamar decks. Taking these cards out of the deck was a difficult decision, as I tested the deck a lot with them. But a few hours before LAIC, I realized that there would not be much Malamar in the room and I didn’t necessarily need those cards to beat Malamar. Xander’s Comprehensive Guide on Golisopod/Zoroark and its Matchups for Memphis “Posted above is the winning list, no surprises here. The skeleton of the list is near perfect, with the only discrepancies in the list being tech cards. These are inherently fluid and changeable based on the foreseen meta. Here’s the list of cards I’ve considered cutting: Mewtwo Mr. Mime 4th Field Blower Mallow All of these have specific uses, yet are unimportant in regard to the deck’s strategy. I’ll find myself discarding these with Trade in any matchup other than the one they’re intended for. A majority of the time cards like Mallow or the 4th Field Blower end up…
Five Brotherly Interviews on Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of the Pokémon TCG “Ryan and Kyle Sabelhaus Kevin and Erik Nance Michael and Frank Diaz Daniel and David Lopez Dan and Dave Richard Where are you from and how long have you been playing? Kyle: Hello! We’ve been playing competitively since 2004 when our family moved to Florida, and we currently live and play in South Carolina. Our neighborhood development was new; so many kids were moving into it just like us. When we went to help one of these kids move, we found his Pokémon card collection and it reminded us of all the fun we had when we first played. After that…
If it sees any movement around it, this Pokémon charges for it straightaway, leading with its sharply pointed jaw. It’s very proud of that jaw. (Arrokuda)
