An Unbroken Bonds Review, Blastoise/Alolan Ninetales, and All-Basics ReshiZard “I’m going to start things off with what may be a controversial statement: I don’t believe this card is going to be good enough. While at face it resembles powerful cards that have led many players to great success, I believe that it has some weaknesses that are going to prove too difficult to overcome. Firstly, I believe Fire Weakness is going to be a huge liability in a format full of Reshiram & Charizard-GX. While cards with suboptimal Weaknesses have been successful in the past, I’m not too interested in putting myself at an immediate disadvantage in the early…
This Pokémon lived on prehistoric seashores and was able to preserve food with the ice on its body. It went extinct because it moved so slowly. (Arctozolt)
A Look into Aromatisse in the NXD–FLF Format “Open Spots – 10 The main reason for introducing a Skeleton list is because of how many different options there are for this deck. 2-2 Aromatisse XY Compared to decks like Hydreigon, this deck needs a smaller line to get its Energy switching up and going. A 2-2 line has worked for me well, and I’ve never felt like I’ve wanted a 3rd of either copy with Sacred Ash in the deck. 2 Thundurus-EX Thundurus-EX is one of the main reasons why this deck can function. For its 1-Energy attack, Thundurus can deal 100 damage to Lightning-Weak Pokémon such as Lugia-EX and…
A Discussion of the (Good!) State of Expanded and Discussion of Malamar for FLI Standard “I do think there is great power in this banlist and you never want to appear as if you are caving in to the demands of the community, but if updated more frequently, I think it could easily be done if only as a charade that would make people more interested in Expanded. As stated above, the main problem with Expanded is that you simply do not have to care about it, and can plan your whole season around avoiding it if you really want to. It is simple to see how Expanded has always been something that you could…
A States Adventure with Malamar-EX “Hello 6P readers! It’s great to be back and writing again as a hectic school year comes to a close. However, even with a busy schedule, I’ve been able to make time for my favorite hobby: Pokemon! Before I jump right into my adventures with Malamar, I want to set the stage with a quick overview of my season. I started off very hot with a 3rd place finish at Fort Wayne Regionals and rode that momentum into a consistent Cities season. I played everything from Donphan to Pyroar during Cities and picked up another 130 Championship Points. I tacked on…
Dark for Toronto, Alolan Ninetales and Garbodor for Seattle “If I were going to Toronto, I think the best and safect choices for an inexperienced Expanded player such as myself to consider would be either Volcanion-EX or Turbo Dark. Both options are very solid and don’t have any clear weaknesses or auto losses that I can come up with. The presence of Gallade PRC in a variety of decks could possibly hinder Turbo Dark a little bit, but other than that, there aren’t any other viable Fighting types besides Primal Groudon (which one-shots you no matter what). Sam Hough’s list from Portland Regionals seems like an extremely safe play for…
This gluttonous Pokémon only assists people with their work because it wants treats. As it runs, it crackles with electricity. (Yamper)
