OK, so we've got Japan's next set announced! Featuring Mega Lucario, Hawlucha EX and a new type of energy called "Strong Energy", it seems they're following the theme of "typing" the XY series sets.

I... can't be the only one who chuckled at the name.

DUMMY? How the heck could they put that name on the pack?

I can see the joke, I guess. But in Japan, when they reveal their new pack arts and stuff , they put dummy, meaning that the artwork is prone to change.

I hope that there's finally some fighting energy acceleration. That's been long overdue. I mean, seriously, all other types have had some form of acceleration/manipulation.

I personally don't really wanna see a Rhyperior XY/Victini LTR deck, but I guess I can live with it.

Metal hasn't either... Besides, I want a Barbaracle deck. Hopefully Mega Luke does something for that.

Terrakion ex pump up smash *cough *

Yeah, but you needed Victini EX to power up Terrakion to use Pump-Up Smash. I think he means more direct acceleration like what everything else(except metal) had/has.

BW klingklang moved around metal energy

That's like saying energy switch is energy acceleration. Moving energy already on board!=getting energy on board

Technically, every energy has acceleration...with thunderous/prism. But, this is getting off topic, and to stick with the topic of fighting energy, I can see some kind of that gym leader who had the lucario in the games with the roller Skates being like a blacksmith of sorts.

I said acceleration/MANIPULATION. Infinite energy switch counts as manipulation.

Bisharp from nxd allowed you to pull a metal energy from the discard to one of your pokes for [C] and 3pdamage

Moving Energy around is a form of Energy acceleration. What you need to realize is that
Instead, Energy acceleration just means getting more Energy to where you can use it than your regular Energy attachments would normally permit. As such it includes
    1. From hand
    2. From deck
    3. From discard
    4. From another Pokémon
    5. From Prizes (hypothetical)
    6. From the Lost Zone (hypothetical, requires reviving obsolete mechanic)
    7. From your opponent (hypothetical, violates established "rule of design")
It helps to remember that most TCGs are numbers games, and keeping an Energy from hitting the discard pile or putting it towards a different Pokémon than it was already attached to are still capable of generating significant advantage. It becomes even more obvious when you factor in combos: when you use an Energy transferring effect to move Energy off of a Pokémon in order to prevent it from being discarded, whether that discarding comes from being KOed or from another effect (positive or negative), you're still "ahead" where you would have been. Depending upon the format, different forms will prove better or worse.

I would disagree with that definition of energy acceleration, and would call things like Aromatisse/Hydreigon energy manipulation, rather than acceleration.

Okay... now explain why there is a difference? The argument you are disagreeing with is that Energy manipulation is a form of Energy acceleration.

yes. You are not accelerating energy at all by moving it around. It might conserve energy but definitely not accelerating it.

You aren't putting energy on the board. You are using your energy more efficiently, yes, but it is not getting energy on to the board. would you consider moving a tree to a new location planting a new tree?
