Has anyone seen any secret rares for XY? I havn't seen scans so I assume there are none. We could see pal-pad as a SR if we do at all.

Dedicating my 700th post to this.

No XY secret rares are in this set, but maybe for the next one.

They must have just not put them in prerelease packs or Japanese packs either because they are sekrit.

    First,secret*

And why did all others prs like plasma blast get a shiny in some packs? Accept the fact we have no secret rares, but might in the next set.

I thought you guys would understand how much I'm being sarcastic with me spelling it "sekrit."

So what do you guys think of this list as a reincarnation of the Shift Gears deck?

    Pokemon – 18

    3 Cobalion EX
    2 Spritzee
    2 Aromatisse
    3 Klink
    1 Klang
    3 Klinklang
    1 Yveltal EX
    1 Keldeo EX
    1 Victini EX
    1 Jirachi EX

    Trainers – 33

    4 Juniper
    3 N
    3 Skyla
    2 Colress
    12 Supporters

    4 Ultra Ball
    2 Heavy Ball
    2 Level Ball
    3 Rare Candy
    3 Max Potion
    2 Tool Scrapper
    1 Switch
    1 Dowsng Machine
    18 Items

    3 Fairy Garden

    Energy – 9

    4 Prism
    4 Rainbow
    1 DCE

Keldeo is in there as a way to clean off something like Sleep or Poison, as well as be able to 1-shot Fire Pokemon if it needs to (Prisms and Rainbow count toward the Water requirement). Victini is in there because Genesect is nasty for this deck to deal with. Jirachi is in there because who doesn't like Supporters off a Level or Ultra Ball right? Yveltal is in there because Evil Ball is pretty good. DCE is in there because Evil Ball is pretty good.

why plasma kalng the thing that made the last deck good was the energy mover was metal creating syn-energy with the new fair type its better to run more of a 6 corner deck with just the movement. Besides the only cards you protect are klingklang cabalion and jirachi witch other then cabalion aren't used to attack.

Well look at it this way. You wouldn't run more than like 10 or 12 Metal in Shift Gears deck, and you are running 8 "Metal" Energy in this deck. That's not way too far off. Also, being able to heal off damage from Cobalion with Max Potion and having options through Keldeo, Yveltal, and Victini make having Aromatisse pretty good. And free retreat with Fairy Garden. Not being able to attack something that is 2HKOing your EX Pokemon can also win games by itself.

I wasnt saying that its bad i just don't see the point in running kingklang

    What about hammer spam
with the way your deck looks a darkrai deck with enhanced hammers is going to have a field day with out any energy to use your stuck

I don't think the Darkrai player would want to use Junk Hunt for 5 Hammers without dealing any real damage to me other than the 1 tick of Poison after his turn. Keep in mind that Cobalion also has a first attack that costs only 1 Energy too, so it's hitting that Sableye for 30 every turn it's Junk Hunting for another Hammer. After long enough that Sableye will be dead, and then you can go ahead and attack another energy and try to kill some Darkrais. It'll be a tough match up but it's winnable.

And what would taking out Klinklang do anyways? Open me up to having this deck be a Fairybox deck with stuff like Xerneas XY and Fairy Energy? I think I'll keep the Klinklang in and play a lock/heal deck.

Its not what would take out kingking but what advantage dose it add
protection from Ex's is the only thing plus with XY we have raybor/delphox
  14. Professor_N

    Professor_N Well-Known Member

Delphox can be taken care of with Keldeo EX - 3 Prism/Rainbow and it's hitting for 220 on a phox. I may consider adding a second Keldeo EX in there - maybe. Protection from EXs is still a big deal. Every big time deck right now has EXs as it's backbone attacker. Even if you are up against some non-EX Pokemon you can still hit them guaranteed with Steel Bullet (eats Safeguard) for a good 100 Damage, and then proceed to heal off their 2HKO damage with a Max Potion (no energy loss thanks to Aromatisse).

I think that stmlacek1 is just trying to say that plasma klang only protects metal pokemon.
  16. Professor_N

    Professor_N Well-Known Member

Yeah, I know. But what I'm trying to say is that this deck can still throw in the tech Pokemon that a Fairybox deck could but it can also have the solid consistent attacker that is Cobalion EX with the support of KK so it can potentially take 6 prize cards with little to no answers available.

$5 says you've never faced a Darkrai/Hammers deck. The real question is, why wouldn't they Junk Hunt for 2 hammers and do 30 damage between turns with laser? It takes Cobalion with 1 energy 3 turns to KO a Sableye. That's 9 turns to take 3 prizes, while they've discarded probably 7+ energy off your field. With no recovery, if they just wipe out all of your energy and Darkrai can sweep, even if it's not doing damage to the active.

Then I'll just force a tie in the series. No big deal.
  19. SamSoldier

SamSoldier Don't know what to put here D:

It's just me that thinks this deck is playable again?
  20. snscompt1

snscompt1 The worst Mafia player ever.

Very much so. Let's see how the first week of states go, but I think most people will be focusing on their heavy EX decks and less on other attackers. Could be wrong, but I think it will see more play again. Rayboar might not be the greatest matchup though....
